I've reviewed hundreds of websites for clients over the years. The pattern is consistent: the ones that work best are almost always simpler than the ones that don't.
Complexity Has a Cost
Every additional element on a page competes for attention. Every extra navigation item adds a decision. Every animation risks distracting from the one thing you actually want visitors to do.
Simple Isn't Easy
Simplicity takes discipline. It means deciding what to cut as carefully as you decide what to keep. Most websites are complex because removing things is harder than adding them.
Start With One Question
What is the single most important thing a visitor should do on this page? Design for that. Everything else is secondary.
